So this is falling for someone, she found herself thinking idly, bemusedly, but once she’d thought it, she couldn’t unthink it.

She wasn’t surprised that the stranger seemed secretive and generally odd - hermits tended to be both.

“You didn’t have to hurt her,” Desmond growled. “We could have done this peacefully.”

He was like a scorpion you found in your boot; by the time you realized it was there, too late. Damage done.

“Skeletons. F@#king skyscraper-sized skeletons. All over the place.”

“We don’t have much time then.”

He loved her. He loved her more than anything, and he’d keep his pollinators sheathed forever.
